to get a copy of Stephanie Jacobs’ The Quick. Saw it at a reading the other night. Didn’t love it—but strangely, also thought of two theaters that ought to read it. I get the feeling that this is the definition of lit management—recommending plays that don’t agree with my taste to theaters whose taste the play WOULD agree with.

Flower petals, a drum band, students lined up for 1/4 mile, speeches, and an engraved cornerstone. I feel like visiting royalty. They value theater, I suppose!
